TEN LIVES CLUB VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES
WILL THEY LIVE HAPPILY EVER AFTER?
One of the most important and rewarding volunteer work is placing a cat in a home where you know they will be loved and cared for. We are in desperate need for volunteers to learn the adoption process. During the month of May every Monday night we will be offering adoption classes to those of you who want to take an active role in sending our fury friends to their forever homes. Classes will be at the Hamburg shelter from 5:30pm to 7:00pm every Monday night in the month of May. Please consider attending one of these classes to be qualified to do adoptions and to help at any adoption events you may be able to do. You will also be trained on shelters procedures for transporting Cats to and from adoption events. Call Marianne at 695-5599 to schedule a class when directions and address to our shelter will be given out.
Ten Lives Club has four cages at the Eastern Hills Mall SPCA store where we now show our cats permanently. However, to be able to continue showing our cats there we need volunteers every Tuesday to help out –the hours are 3:00 – 8:00 pm. You would be doing on the spot cleaning (sweeping, tending to any litter problems, promoting all the TLC and SPCA cats there, greeting people as they come in and helping with adoptions. If we do not have enough volunteers to many this location every Tuesday, we will lose this store opportunity!
A volunteer is needed on Tuesdays; 9am-3pm (or whatever hours you can give) to help at the front desk at the Hamburg shelter. Please call 646-5577 if you can help.
For the following volunteer positions, please complete our volunteer submission form on the website or call 716 646-5577.
-Food commitee (help to prepare food/serve/clean up during fundraising events).
-Dessert committee (make desserts for various fundraising events throughout the year).
-Theme baskets (create theme baskets for various fundraising events).
-Decorating committee (set up decorations for approximately 6 - 7 events a year).
-Donation jars (places and collects full dontation jars at a desginated location).
-Soliciting donations (writing letters to airlines, companies, product makers, etc.
for items to donate).
-Fundraising (help to set up/clean up and work during events).
-Hamburg Shelter Cleaning. Cleaners are needed 7 days a week from 9:00 am - 3:30 pm daily (a weekly commitment is needed).
Laundry Team - Volunteers are needed to do laundry for the Hamburg shelter.
You may pick up soiled laundry to take home/laundry mat to wash and return
within two weeks or do laundry at the shelter once a week or every other week.
-Pet Store cage cleaning (the various locations are located on our homepage).
-Office work (filing, sorting, helping out at the Hamburg shelter weekly with duties/administrative work).
-Transporting cats to and from the Hamburg shelter. A weekly commitment is needed).
-Tabbytown. Volunteers will need to commit to clean 1-2 times a week from 8:30am-12:00pm. Help is also needed for adoption duties for 4-5 hour shifts.
-Foster homes are needed for mama cats ready to give birth, mothers and their newborns, or just kittens. This is a commitment of 5-12 weeks.
