VET PARTNERS AND TLC SUPPORTERS
A big THANK YOU to South Towns Appliance who has donated a refurbished Maytag washing machine to replace our broken one at the Hamburg shelter and thanks to all who contacted us to help out with the laundry. Paws up to Joe & Kathy Cartonia! Joe & Kathy donated silver eagle coins from their J.C. Coins Store and held raffles at two of their metal detecting hunts to raise money for the cats! A warm and fuzzy thank you to them both! (pictured: Kiki and friends) A Lemonade Stand for Ten Lives Club Ten Lives Club recently started showing our cats at the Pet Supplies Plus' East Amherst location and is now fully staffed with five cats and two shifts of volunteers each day. Amy; a volunteer spends time weekly along with her children tending to our cats. Amy's daughter Kiki (age 9) was so concerned with the cat adoptions that she and her friends set up a lemonade stand in East Amherst, NY and collected $37 for Ten Lives Club!! The girls also created a coupon offering a $15 adoption discount. The lucky cat adopted with the coupon was Corbitt a large black male. Corbitt's new owner was also inspired and has become a Ten Lives Club volunteer! Thank you Kiki and friends for helping the cats!
To the businesses and companies that help and support Ten Lives Club, we THANK YOU for your generosity.

If you've never had to take your animal to Animal Eye Care of Western New York, then consider yourself lucky. If you have had to take an animal there to see Dr. Stantz well, then consider yourself blessed. Located at 4865 Transit Road in Depew, this multi-area office feels more like a warm inviting living room complete with fireplace and don't forget the furry friendly hosts that greet you at the door. Dr.Stantz admits herself that she has 11 cats at home, 8 more which actually live at her office. Her youthful glow and pleasant demeanor are enough to quell any worried parents fears. When I took my then foster cat Freckles to see Dr.Stantz she examined her with such tenderness that I felt as though she loved her as much as I did. Looking around the exam room I could see from all the wonderful words of thanks that many other patients felt the same as me. An over four year supporter of The Ten Lives Club, Dr.Stantz has opened her door (and her heart) to countless numbers of Ten Lives critters. Highest regards to a kind and loving provider of top quality animal eye care. Many thanks to Dr.Stantz. |

FEBRUARY 2011
National Spay Day is held every year the last week in February. Ten Lives Club knows the importance of spaying & neutering pets. This was our 10th year participating in "National Spay Day".
The following each pledged one free spay and one free neuter of a cat in recognition of National Spay Week. By Ten Lives Club participating in holding a spay/neuter clinic and with the help of these vet offices, 35 cats were spayed and neutered thus helping to reduce the serious pet overpopulation problem!

OCTOBER 2010
Boo and Layla enjoying the new PET Machine.
Austin Air Systems, Ltd. has graciously donated a PET Machine (valued at $538.99) and replacement filters to the Petsmart Cheektowaga store for TLC's adoption room. This machine helps eliminate dust, germs, viruses, and bacteria keeping the cats healthy and adoption ready. The adoption room also smells fresh and clean (goodbye litter box smell).
Thank you Austin Air! |

Holland Girl Scout Troop #597 held a donation drive for items to benefit the Ten Lives Club cat shelter in Concord. Shown is the Holland Girl Scout troop at the cat shelter holding “Casey” the office cat. Ten Lives Club welcomes girl & boy scout groups and other youth groups to do project work, schedule cleaning days at the shelter, fundraising or donation drives to help them out. Call 646-5577 if your group can help.
Spring 2009
Pictured above is Maura Krause and her son John who have graciously donated a microchip scanner for incoming cats at the Ten Lives Club shelter. The Krauses lost their beloved cat about 9 months ago when it slipped out their front door. They did not have their cat microchipped and were saddened by this fact. Their hope is that the microchip scanner will reunite many cats with their owners who enter our shelter believed to be strays who are actually lost cats. Also pictured: Brenda; Community Pet Clinic Manager and TLC board member and Jill Trudeau; TLC board member.
Christmas 2008
Girl Scout Troop 1129 and Girl Scout Juniors Troop 1042 donated a bag full of
catnip kicksticks and toys as part of their Happy Sock Project. Thank you girls!!!
Another great girl Molly Minigell went around collecting money for Ten Lives Club. She donated $7.00. Thank you Molly!
COMMUNITY FOUNDATION GRANT AWARDED
A $15,000.00 grant from the Community Foundation for Greater Buffalo was awarded to Ten Lives Club cat rescue and adoption group. The Community Foundation for Greater Buffalo is a public charity established by individuals, families, non-profit agencies and businesses to benefit Western New York. This grant enabled the organization to begin sponsorship of a low-cost mobile spay & neuter clinic for cats. From July through October, the mobile clinic provided sterilization surgeries and vaccinations to approximately 200 cats, operating at a site in Hamburg and, in partnership with Save-a-Pet, another local rescue group at a location in Lockport. States Ten Lives Club spokesperson Marie Edwards, “this grant helped us get established and up and running with our mobile clinic to service the many cats in need in Western New York. We are grateful to the Community Foundation for Greater Buffalo for awarding us this grant so we can continue on with our mission statement of “promoting, furthering and enhancing all feline life.” We believe one of the easiest and smartest ways to do such is through spaying and neutering and vaccines which this grant made possible for us to do.”
During the winter months, clinics will continue to be offered, thanks to the SPCA serving Erie County, which has provided the use of its Angola facilities. For information and scheduling of your cat to be spayed or neutered, please call 992-9486.
For information on the above, please contact Marie Edwards – 646-5577 |

Ten Lives Club was awarded a grant in 2006 by the Board of Directors of the David J. Shenk Foundation. The funds were used to subsidize three adoptions for senior citizens in the community. |

Meghan
Meghan gave up her birthday gifts this year during her birthday party with her friends and instead asked them to make a donation to Ten Lives Club to help the cats. Meghan adopted a TLC cat awhile ago and wanted to help the other cats in our program. Donations were made from Meghan and also her friends at St. Bernadette's Elementary School. Way to go Meghan for thinking of your cats for your 8th birthday! |

(Friday, July 29) Ten Lives Club (Cheryl Ludwig of Delta Sonic and myself) were on the air from 6:30 am - 8:00 am promoting our group and our cats. We brought four cats to the studio and all were little celebrities there climbing all over the studio and even turning up the volume by cat accident for one oldies song! We brought four of our harder to place cats there - Angie who is older, Katherine an all black cat, Wilson who is older and Tyger Doodle who is an FIV and people flip out on though NO reason too! He is as lovable as all other cats and can lead a good, long life. Sue Nichols works at the radio station and put the good word in to get us on. Gail Ann Huber who is one of the DJ's is looking to have us on as a monthly feature. We and the cats had alot of fun! Thank you Oldies 104.1 and Delta Sonic! |
