Over the years Ten Lives Club has welcomed FIV+ cats with hopes of adopting them into loving homes. Unfortunately due to their compromised immune systems, they are at risk for contracting Stomatitis. These cats at other shelters would most likely be euthanized due to the financial burden proper treatment involves. We do not believe this to be the case, as these cats are the most loving at our shelter and will have a forever home with us even if they are not adopted.
Our only option is to give them continual pain medication until they can get the full dental care they need and deserve. The dental equipment we are currently fundraising for would be used for routine dental care and not for this type of disease. Full mouth extractions need to be done with a diet of wet food for the rest of their lives. These cats have a 95% success rate with proper treatment and they deserve a chance. Believe it or not, some of these cats are only three years old and have a full life ahead of them.
We have been blessed with three volunteers who will sponsor three of the cats for their dental needs at a cost of $1500 each. Would you please consider sponsoring a Stomatitis cat? Maybe a group of cat lovers could join forces to sponsor a cat.
Dr. Hanson who specializes in treating dental disorders will provide the needed care for our Stomatitis cats. His terms of payment include cash, credit card, and personal check.
Please, Please Please consider helping these cats. We wish we could afford to, but the cost is out-of-reach for rescue groups like Ten Lives Club, and is the reason cats in other shelters are euthanized. If you can find it in your heart to become a sponsor, please call Karen Slomba @ 822-2023 for details
THANK YOU!
