4th Annual Chili Cook Off January 2012 Annual Fashion Show October 2011 Ten Lives recently partnered with Pixie Dog Rescue of West Falls for our Annual Fashion Show featuring fashions from Dress Barn and Village Kids of Hamburg. The runway models were our very own volunteers and supporters! Lori Mendez of Sloan, NY recently held her third annual 'Lori's Amazing Auction" fundraiser to benefit Ten Lives Club. Lori prepares all year for this event which features 400+ items for raffle. After this years event Lori presented a check for $4,135 to Ten Lives Club! We can't thank Lori enough for all her hard work to make this a successful event each year to benefit the cats! Pictured from left to right is Kathy Pollick, a TLC volunteer, and Lori Mendez proudly displaying the check for TLC!
Ten Lives Club has a new adoption site. The Pet Supplies Plus store located at 9630 Transit Road East Amherst, NY is now open with six cats presently residing there in condo cages provided by PSP. The cats are also enjoying the brightly decorated room with the new 6 foot high tree stand donated by PSP. Volunteers are still being trained but we will soon have a complete
shift of two volunteers daily and will be training substitutes.
We wish to thank Pet Supplies Plus for letting us use store personnel to fill in the shifts that we initially needed so that we could start showing our cats there. Pet Supplies Plus has been very generous to Ten Lives Club and we appreciate it tremendously. The East Amherst store is co-managed by Jackie Villafranca and Dorine Jensen.
Ten Lives Club cat rescue and adoption group held an adoption and fundraising event at Wild Things jewelry and craft store on May 5, 2011. Though our Rally to Rescue tent was outside with our theme basket raffle and items to sell, we kept the cats inside the store due to the chilly Buffalo, New York weather that evening. Pictured is Sallie Edwards of Hamburg in front of “Ping-Pong” the cat up for adoption. No cats were adopted at this event, but thanks to the attention the Rally to Rescue tent brought outside the store, we were able to raise nearly $800 for our organization.

Pictured from left to right is Kathy Cartonia of Clarence and Sallie Edwards; Ten Lives Club volunteers that give their time in helping with adoption and sales at Tabby Town Adoption Store in the McKinley Mall. Tabby Town needs volunteers to continue to make their store a success. To volunteer at the store (adoptions, cleaning cages, an/or fundraising) please contact the store directly at 822-4910 for more information.

2009 ADOPT-A-THON
On Saturday and Sunday November 14th and 15th, 2009 Petsmart (Walden Avenue, Cheektowaga NY location) held their annual Fall Adoption Weekend Sponsored by Ralston Purina, ProPlan, and Rally To Rescue. Ten Lives participated in this event as an Ambassador of The Rally to Rescue Program. Two other local SPCA organizations also attended. 21 cats in all were adopted from this location. Ten Lives sent five cats to their new Forever Homes. One special feline; Gizzy had a very happy ending and was adopted through the Ten Lives Club Senior Program which matches up elderly or hard to adopt cats with seniors looking for a companion. Ten Lives Club also provides the Senior Program's new owner with a six month supply of food and a bag of litter. Customers had a great time holding the cats especially those cute little cuddly kittens! Balloons were given to the children with various cat faces drawn on them. Some still grace the ceiling at Petsmart as a reminder of the fun filled event. People who just passed through for supplies for their pets ended up falling in love with our purring felines and couldn't resist leaving without a new loving pet. All new adopters were given a bag of goodies from Ralston Purina including coupons for free food and litter. Thanks to Petsmart, Ralston Purina, and all the Volunteers who gave their time to put 21 of our fury friends into new warm and loving homes.

On January 31, 2009 the two kids (pictured below) along with their parents surprised our cats at the shelter with loads of goodies! This is the second year they asked their birthday party guests to bring gifts for the cats. Thank you both for your kindness and generosity! GRAND OPENING DAY! Sunday, June 3, 2007

We all had a great time and thanks to all those who helped get the shelter ready for this event - you all know who you are! Many, many of us were at the shelter day and night to all late hours trying to make it purrfect for the event which came upon us way too soon. Thank you for these efforts as we certainly pulled it off! I could name dozens of you who helped clean, renovate, and ran errands, but I would be afraid to miss out on one single person as so many pitched in to make this grand opening happen. Around 200 some people were present at the ribbon cutting ceremony and the tributes were very touching. We really put on the spread that day! Most likely the next time we have such an event it will be our 5th anniversary, so we still have some time to rest. Our vision and dream has been realized and no stopping us now! WE ALL MADE THIS HAPPEN NO MATTER WHAT YOUR ROLE IN TLC. We all deserve kudos for what we have achieved for the cats out there! This shelter will now stand forever...for our grandkids and future generations to run someday. Rope the young in now so we can all retire very soon....
